Director

Graduated in Film Directing from the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, she exteded her studies with a scholarship at The London Film School. She also attended film workshops with Emir Kusturica, Albert Serra and Abbas Kiarostami. Before a career switch into filmmaking and co-founding 59 en Conserva, she worked as an associate consultant for Bain & Co.

Her works as a director have been screened at Edinburgh International Film Festival, Slamdance, the États Généraux du Film Documentaire, Molodist, Málaga, Punto de Vista, Alcine and Documenta Madrid among other film festivals, and have received awards in France, Portugal, Italy, USA, Ukraine and Romania. She also worked as an assistant director, screenwriter and cultural journalist for various print media in Mexico. Over the years she has been part of the filmmaking landscape of several countries.  

Alongside her own projects, she produces films by other filmmakers and investigates various questions around art theory and the interdependencies between cinema and other art disciplines. For these efforts she became a Prado Museum fellow, participated to several panels and contributed to various publications.
